Unbroken By Nature. “Garbage” chair, found discarded in a park, is being given a new life from the strength of the willow woven around it. Being created as part of the Grow Op Exhibit, April 20-24, at the Gladstone Hotel, Toronto.
I had to build a trough for the willow. It has to soak for a week to become pliable.
The sunlight slips through the willow and creates lovely patterns on the wood.
Almost finished. Enjoying some apple brandy by the fire.
Installed at the Gladstone Hotel, Toronto’s premiere art hotel space, as part of Grow Op 2016.
